THE PROJECT: In the winter of 2007/2008 the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Education and Community Relations division hired COURAGEOUSb to help develop and launch the creative for the inaugural Canadian Olympic School Program (COSP) curriculum.  A large scope of materials are being created on an ongoing bases to inform, inspire and educate grade school students on various aspects of the Olympic experience. From values driven Olympian Stories, to Project Packs focusing on travel planning and the effects of pollution, to a series of Aboriginal Olympian Stories where the content was presented not only in English and French but also translated into Cree, Mohawk and Hul’qumi’num.

ANDYS ROLE: To establish an underlying creative strategy and implement the design on various COSP curriculum pieces in order to facilitate participation from the provinces Elementary and Secondary school teachers and generate interest and involvement from the students themselves. Since the materials needed to be informative and easy to implement for teachers, but attractive and inspiring for young energetic students, the challenge was to communicate to two differing audiences simultaneously. Other challenges included working with very tight time lines, multiple language translations and juggling approvals from the Olympic Committee and their Premium National Partner, the Royal Bank of Canada.
